walking to boost your brain
The benefits of walking for health and enhanced metabolism are generally known, but did you know that one key way to increase your performance, on all levels, is walking?

Walking encourages the left and right hemispheres of the brain to perform better and to work together. The left side controls movement on the right side of the body and vice versa. This means that when we put one foot in front of the other we make both sides of the brain work.
The way we live tends to use more left brain activity because we are conditioned to think in a logical manner and to control our emotional expressions, to break ideas down into pieces. That makes that we are often missing out on the broader perspective that the right hemisphere can offer. So when you can combine the abilities for detail and focus of the left side with the awareness of the bigger picture of the right side, your brain will be more balanced and you will be able to increase your performance.
The effect of walking is even increased when you swing your arms because now a right arm and left leg are working together and then the other way around. This makes the 2 hemispheres co-operate which in turn literally opens up your mind and as such boosts your performance.
Got to create, finish or nail something? Go and walk it out first!
